on Obama and the future

The xkcd blag is urging us to vote for Obama for reasons I completely agree with, but the best part of the post is at the bottom:

Space is on the verge of becoming an adventure again, Windows Vista is flopping, and Mario Kart will be out for the Wii soon. I think the future will be okay.

Periodic art table

Posted by nora in art, wikiality

Those of you with an interest in printmaking or the periodic table of the elements will find this massively collaborative art project interesting.

Also, I just noticed that I keep categorizing practically everything on this blog as “wikiality”. The idea of a reality based on what people on the internet think is just so fascinating to me that I pretty much have to apply it to everything, I guess.

stuff I wrote elsewhere

Today, I bitched out half of deviantart. The fun part is that now my main deviantart page consists of me ranting about statistics and a picture of girls making out.

A Wonderful Life

Posted by nora in gaming, poetry

We had to write a poem about what we did in the past few days for Creative Writing. Here it is.

A Wonderful Life
I failed to woo her
With flowers and fossils
And restarted to try again

Thrusting the two-scented daisies
Into her hands
Until the blank stare she gave me
Drove me back to the house to sleep

Three more days of following her into her room
Reading her diary
Leaving at 2 AM for six hours of sleep
Taking short breaks to plant grape trees
Milk the cow

Before I decided this was too absurd to bother with
Switched off the console
In favor of blueberry toast
And midnight internet pictionary

1,500 XBox Harddrives being knocked over like dominos.

I take it all back. XBoxes are useful for something after all.

Grand Theft Jesus

Posted by nora in comics, gaming, internet drama, politics

I have a great idea for a video game. It only needs to include a few things, which I will list:

  • Big guns
  • A timeline involving Jesus
  • Swords
  • Lightsabers
  • Awesome tits

They wouldn’t need to advertise. They could just send a review copy to Jack Thompson and he would do all of the marketing for them.

Harry Potter and the Chronicles of the Lord of the Golden Compass of the Jedi

You should watch this video, it’s under 2 minutes. It’s a pretty brilliant mashup of movie trailers. Io9 thought that it was important because it showed that Star Wars is really a fantasy; I find it interesting to hear a lot of movie trailer voiceovers next to each other. They’re still pretty smooth like that.
