Lissa and I just finished putting new lights in the kitchen.
We replaced the old (very old) incandescent fixtures with flourescents. More light. Less electricity. Woot.

John, have you found a good place to get flourescents? I’ve replaced as many bulbs as I can, but many of the fixtures in my apartment seem to take odd sizes/wattages/etc. which I can’t find in flourescents in my local stores.
We’ve been getting ours at Home Depot, which seems to have the largest selection of any store in town. But in the case of the kitchen lights, the higher-wattage screw-in compact flourescents would not fit, so we replaced the entire light fixture with a true flourescent ceiling fixture.
