Sony Infringes Copyrights?

Irony upon ironies. Ed Felten reports on the evidence that Sony’s profoundly troubling digital rights management software includes code from a number of GPL and LGPL programs. (It goes without saying that the programs do not comply with the GPL/LGPL.)

In other words, the industry giant self-righteously arguing against the theft of intellectual property has stolen the intellectual property of others in its misguided attempt to protect its own intellectual property.

  1. I saw your site and wanted to mention a couple good sites for intellectual property research:

    http://www.FreePatentsOnline.com
    http://www.SumoBrain.com

These sites provide free patent searching, along with free PDF downloading (bulk downloads possible on SumoBrain), annotating and sharing documents with other users, free alerts for new documents, and more.

If you have a spot, a link to let your users know about the site would be excellent.
