The red phalarope, a small bird rarely seen on land in these parts, has been spotted in groups of up to 1,000 from Pescadero to Moss Beach. There were also reports of the birds making it as far from the coast as Millbrae and Mountain View.
Pescadero is a great place, John. I’ve done many rides down there and some great climbs over the hills, esp. Gazos Creek. Second-growth redwoods big enough to block much of the light to the road & Pescadero has a great deli for lunch.

P.S.: rode home from work the other day, winter set-up is full panniers for winter training. Headwind was so strong had to ride 24×21 gear to make it the last part of the way home.
