Here’s a result that runs counter to the conventional wisdom:
The largest study ever to ask whether a low-fat diet reduces the risk of getting cancer or heart disease has found that the diet has no effect.
Big study, therefore strong result. I love surprises.
The issue here is that these women started the diet late in life. The cofactors involved to create disabling health may have already happened.
The study does not answer the question ‘does eating a low-fat diet before all your bad habits have chosen your path help you later in life?’.
That is: does a healthy diet as youngsters help us later?
Best,
D
