The problems in agriculture aren’t related to particular technology. They are related to what we, as a society, have valued. What we value (either in making law or making purchases) drives what farmers grow and thus why Monsanto is so successful.

Excellent article, excellent blog. Ludwick seems to have a grasp of the immense scale and complexity of issues involved. But she still leans toward the either-or resolution–stop driving and eating animal products or else support Monsanto. There’re hundreds of happy mediums between going vegan and gobbing triple-meat burgers every day.
