Colorado River DCP: “Arizona will figure it out, Episode II”

Interesting letter from the Central Arizona Water Conservation District board leadership regarding Colorado River Drought Contingency Plan. Not sure what this means, seems kind of important. I guess we all need to set aside some time on Nov. 15 to find out.

I try to be an optimist. I really try.

  1. Why try to be an optimist? You know Arizona is going to screw the pooch on this. Maybe instead of the Arizona National Guard going to the Colorado River border with California, we can have different Arizona water interests hiring private security guards to send at each other.

  2. Are the tribes offering this water only for Arizona’s agricultural use? If not, tribes should impose conditions so that the water they’re sacrificing doesn’t go to Arizona’s lawns, swimming pools, golf courses, and other recreational uses.
